Kimberly Herslow -

In addition to running Upper Creek, Kim is responsible for identifying raw equine talent with potential. After purchasing a horse, Kim will start them off with Dressage training. Based on her observations and experience, she will then decide if the horse will excell in Dressage, Jumpers or Hunters.

Kim explains, ”Our focus is to incorporate Classical Dressage training into all diciplines. This form of training helps to maintain soundness through proper balance and suppleness."

Some of the champions Kim has purchased as yearlings and produced include "Eleventh Hour," 1998 Circuit Champion WEF, 1st. yr. Green AHSA horse of the year, along with his full brother "Jazzman" who also had many championships in the 2nd. year greens in 1998 and went on to show in the children's Hunters.

Presently, Kim owns an 11 year old gelding named Cordobino, (Cordoba, Wenzel 1)that she imported from Germany as a five year old. Within one year, they qualified in 2004 for the 6 year old Dressage Championships and finished 6th out of 16 competitors. They have gone on to show successfully through PSG and Cordo is schooling all GP movements.

In February 2009, Kiroli Partners imported a new dressage prospect that Kimberly found from Johannes Westendarp in German. "Rosmarin" is a 2005 Hanoverian gelding by Rosentanz/Weltmeyer. Johannes competed him in Verden as a 3 year old with scores of 8.5 on trot and canter and 9 on his walk. Kimberly showed him 1st level in 2010 with consistent scores in the mid 70's and finished 1st level reserve champion at the Regional Championships in Saugerties.Training is progressing well and will show in 2nd/3rd level in 2011.We look forward to bringing this wonderful prospect along to FEI level.

A graduate of Delaware Valley College, Kim Herslow earned her degree in Equine Science studying Dressage training, nutrition, health care and management skills. Kim soon put this education to good use by developing and running Upper Creek Farm, a successful training and boarding operation when she was just 19. A horse lover from the beginning, Kim started riding at age 9. As soon as she learned the basics, Kim discovered she enjoyed working with and riding the green horses or the challenging ones that were not started correctly. She knew she had a talent for working with these kinds of horses. Now she is using and sharing that talent with her customers, producing athletes that excel in any of the 3 disciplines.

She now has her bronze, silver and gold medals with the USDF and has trained young horses to FEI level.
