What do you like about the Devoucoux
saddle?
ANSWER: "The Biarritz jumping saddle has a great balance for the rider to execute correct flatwork and position over fences. The overall design fits a wide range of horses and can also be fitted to your horses specifications."
Besides riding, what other methods of training do you incorporate into your program?
ANSWER: "We incorporate long lining as a tool to develop better balance and acceptance of the outside rein connection. It is also beneficial for greener horses that tend to be spooky or unfocused with their surroundings. Long lining aids horses to become supple and promotes better engagement in all 3 gaits."
How do you decide on what sort of saddle pads to use?
ANSWER: "Most important is the saddle fit. If the saddle cannot be adjusted properly to fit your horse there are a wide range of pads to help. When deciding what to use, we first decide where the saddle is not fitting on the horse. We use a variety of sheepskin half pads that range in thickness between the saddle and a cotton pad. We believe sheepskin has good shock absorbency and therapeutic purposes."
When it comes to bits, how do you decide what will work best?
ANSWER: "I prefer to use a french training snaffle or regular loose ring snaffle for Dressage and Jumping. In some situations for Jumping (whether it's training or showing) I like to use a slow twist if they tend to pull or lean on your hand or a 3-ring Universal snaffle."
